Language Travel ScholarshipSELECTION PROCESS

Stage one

Once you’ve successfully completed the application form and your profile appears on the Travel Scholarships Candidates page, your next step should be to share the link and ask people to vote for you. The more votes you collect, the higher your chances of winning.

After your supporters click your profile to cast their vote, they will be invited to complete 3 questions of our free Spanish or Portuguese Language Level Test (they can answer more if they would like). Votes by those who answer the minimum 3 questions correctly will count as a double vote! Votes will only count as a single vote if the person does not complete this step. So, make sure you let your friends know you want 2 votes!

Stage Two

Once the voting period is over, a panel of 2 Spanish and 2 Portuguese experts (Listen & Learn native teachers) will choose the winning candidate from the 3 finalists with the most votes. The judges will base their decision on each applicant’s travel itinerary, profile, and how well the candidate speaks their selected tongue twister. In case there is a tie between third and fourth place, our jury will make the final decision based on the tongue twister’s level of difficulty.

The scholarship has been rescheduled for 2022 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. New deadline to be announced.

$3,000 USD to put towards a trip to Latin America. 10 hours of free online Spanish or Portuguese language lessons with one of our qualified, native-speaking tutors, to be taken before the winner’s trip begins.

10 hours of free online Spanish or Portuguese language lessons with one of our qualified, native-speaking tutors! (Valid for up to 3 months after the winner is announced.) Once the online courses are over, we will ask our finalists to send us a short video telling us about their experience.
