James ChurchillRussian in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
“My experience with all the people at the company couldn't have been better - they are #1 in my books and the professionalism that they have treated me with is outstanding”
James Churchill, 56, has been studying Russian with Listen & Learn for a few months. It’s allowed him to communicate with people across the world. This is his story:
Listen & Learn: Hi James, how are you?
James: I am doing fine, and how about yourself?
Listen & Learn: Great! Thanks for chatting with us today. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
James: My name is James Churchill and I’m a 56 year old owner, operator, and truck driver who hauls grain from farmers in the province of Saskatchewan.
Listen & Learn: When did you start studying with Listen & Learn?
James: I started my course in the month of April 2013.
Listen & Learn: Which language did you study?
James: I am currently learning the Russian language.
Listen & Learn: Why? What were your reasons and goals?
James: I wanted to learn the Russian language because I’m communicating with a girl from Odessa, Ukraine, at the moment. I want to be able to communicate with her in her language and she will, in turn, be able to better herself with English.
Listen & Learn: Why Listen & Learn instead of any other company?
James: I chose Listen & Learn after doing some research - they were very reputable. They had a finance program that suited my needs and am very happy with the choice I made.
Listen & Learn: Was Listen & Learn helpful?
James: I could not have asked for a better company. At first I was weary with it being set up online, but after speaking with Mike and Sonja, my confidence grew in the company. They were very helpful in everything from planning my payments to getting my teacher and the lessons started.
Listen & Learn: What was the most helpful thing?
James: I clicked with my teacher right away. Her name is Tatiana and she’s now a permanent resident in Saskatoon, Sk. Being from Russia, she knows the language and she teaches it to me very well. She says I’m learning well, but I know it’s a hard language to master. I’m about half way through my course and hopefully in January 2014 I’ll start my lessons again – I miss them!
Listen & Learn: Would you recommend Listen & Learn?
James: I would definitely recommend Listen & Learn. My experience with all the people at the company couldn't have been better - they are #1 in my books and the professionalism that they have treated me with is outstanding, from arranging the finances in the beginning to when I started my course - excellent. I give the company thumbs up and if ever they need a reference from me, or if there are new people starting courses here and they seek my advice, I would tell them they wouldn't regret using Listen & Learn to pursue learning a new language.
Listen & Learn: To end it off, what's your favorite saying in your new language?
James: LUBLU TEBYA – love you!
